Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that teenage midfielder Dan Smith has left to join Liverpool.
The 16-year old England youth international has moved to Anfield on a deal believed to be worth around £250,000 which could rise with future add-ons and bonuses.
"The club has received an undisclosed fee and future add-ons but we would have much preferred to have seen him play for our first team.""We are naturally disappointed that Dan has decided to sign for Liverpool," said Crew spokesman Rob Wilson.
