Former Premier League star Ian Harte says West Ham should dump Dimitri Payet to the reserves.

The France international refused to play for the Hammers last week.

Harte - who is now a football agent following his retirement - has urged Slaven Bilic to put Payet out in the cold.

“After the season he had last year he was saying: 'I want to be at West Ham for a long time'," Harte told Goals on Sunday.

“West Ham gave him a long contract and put their faith in him but he hasn't been the same player since coming back from the European Championships.

“What I would do is put him in with the youth team and let him rot there until he sorts his attitude out."
