Belarus coach Bernd Stange admits Barcelona midfielder Alex Hleb is out of their World Cup qualifier with England.

Stange had hoped Barcelona's former Arsenal midfielder would be able to return to the squad's German training camp after treatment in Spain.

But he has now conceded Hleb, who has been suffering from an ankle injury, will not be fit in time for the clash in Minsk.

Stange said: "Hleb is in Barcelona and our biggest problem is that our best player cannot play."

Hleb left Arsenal for Barca this summer in a £12million move.
