American defender Oguchi Onyewu and two of his Standard Liege team mates approached the Liverpool locker room after the Reds defeated Liege after extra time in the Champions League third qualifying round. The idea was to exchange shirts with the Liverpool players but after five minutes the kitman met the three Liege players with their shirts explaining no Reds player wanted to exchange jerseys.

Onyewu has been mentioned as a frequent transfer target but has not moved to a new club as of yet.
