Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour is planning a summer move to England.
Belgian media sources say Defour has made up his mind to leave Standard and pursue his career in England.
The midfielder is a favourite of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in personal contact with Defour when the player broke down with injury last year.
However, United face competition from Liverpool, where sports chief Damien Comolli believes Defour is the ideal midfield partner for Steven Gerrard.
