Watford midfielder Cristian Battocchio has joined France's Stade Brestois.

Stade Brestois have announced the signing of Battocchio.

While the move hasn't yet been confirmed by the Hornets, Brestois state the 23-year-old has agreed a two-year contract and will wear the number 10 shirt, says the Watford Observer.

The Argentina-born midfielder was given extra time off after representing Italy at the Under-21 European Championships this summer but didn't return to London Colney for pre-season training.
