St Mirren confirms Mooy's return to Australia

St Mirren have confirmed that Aaron Mooy has departed the club to return home to Australia.

The 21-year old midfielder is expected to head home to join new A-League club Western Sydney with Buddies general manager Brian Caldwell indicating that the former Bolton man is keen on getting more regular first team football.

"This move will give Aaron the opportunity to play more first-team football which he really needs at this stage of his career," Caldwell told the club's official website.

"He has been in the UK for the last six years so I'm sure he will be glad to get back home to Australia where he will look to push on with his career.

"We would like to thank Aaron for his efforts while here at St Mirren and to wish him all the best for the future."

Mooy joined St Mirren from Bolton in late 2010 and made 30 appearances for the Paisley club during his time at St Mirren Park.
