St Johnstone striker Sandaza shrugs off Rangers disappointment

Francisco Sandaza is relieved the January transfer window has closed, despite missing out on a move to Rangers. The St Johnstone striker was targeted by the Gers after they agreed to offload Nikica Jelavic to Everton.

The 27-year-old hopes an end to the constant speculation regarding his future will allow him to produce his best, with it his intention to add to an already impressive goal tally.

"It's better for me now the window has closed," the Spaniard said in the Daily Record.

"I don't have to talk about any move or speculation. I can focus on Saints and hope to help the team.

"I'm on 15 goals for the season and have a target in mind. But maybe I will pass it."
