Newcastle United midfielder Mehdi Abeid is on his way to Scotland today.

The Evening Chronicle says St Johnstone were keen to sign Abeid on loan until the summer.

The midfielder asked his agent to circulate his name to French clubs with Nancy believed to be interested. He will weigh up his options today before making a decision.
