Newly promoted St Johnstone have completed the signing of Danny Grainger on a two-year deal from Dundee United. United boss Craig Levein told www.dundeeunitedfc.co.uk: "Danny has been unfortunate in that the form of Paul Dixon since his arrival at Tannadice has meant that his opportunities and ambitions have been frustrated.

"He's a player who needs, and deserves, regular first team football and this move will I'm sure see him play regularly in the SPL.

"He's been great to work with and leaves with our very best wishes for his future career."
