St Johnstone have announced the signing of striker Derek Riordan on a short-term deal.
The 29-year old has been on the lookout for a new club since he returned to Scotland in November after a failed move to Chinese club Shaanxi Chanba and has now set up shop at McDiarmid Park until the end of the season.
"With the player without a club at the moment and the club limited for choice in the forward area (Marcus Haber is currently away with the Canadian international side at the Olympic qualifying tournament) this short-term deal is seen as a help to both parties.""St Johnstone have completed the signing of striker Derek Riordan until the end of the season and international clearance has been received," a statement from the Perth club read.
Riordan, who has made over 200 league appearances for Hibernian over two stints, will go straight into Steve Lomas' Saints squad to take on another former club, Celtic, on Sunday.
