St Johnstone new boys O'Halloran, Dunne delight Wright

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright was thrilled with the performances of two of his January signings in the weekend's 4-0 Scottish Cup fifth round win over Forfar Athletic.

Michael O'Halloran, signed from Bolton, marked his first start for the Saints with a goal from close range after the hour-mark before James Dunne, on loan from Stevenage, added a fourth with ten minutes remaining.

The performance of both of the Saints new boys was not lost on Wright who felt the pair contributed well to the comfortable victory.

"Michael has been knocking on the door for a start and I thought he was excellent, he played really well and I'm pleased with him," said Wright.

"James has come in and he's had to wait a couple of weeks to get on the pitch and I thought he was excellent when he came on and looked a really good player. And he took the goal really well, it was a great finish."
