St Johnstone keen on ex-Celtic forward Sheridan

St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas is keen to retain striker Cillian Sheridan after his loan move expires.

The 22-year old is on a short-term stay at McDiarmid Park from CSKA Sofia, which ends in January, but Lomas is hoping to agree a deal with the Bulgarians to hold onto the former Celtic man who has netted four goals in 13 appearances for the Saints.

"We have asked his agent to keep us informed," said Lomas.

"I think he is happy here, settled at the club and doesn't want to go back to Bulgaria.

"Cillian likes the lads and is popular with them, so I would at least hope to get the opportunity to sit down and have a chat with him.

"He is still out injured for a few more weeks and that will take him to the end of his current loan."
