St Johnstone boss Wright hails loyal supporters

Tommy Wright has heaped praise on the fervent St Johnstone fans who have snapped up a plethora of tickets for the Scottish Cup final.

The Perth club take on Dundee United in the May 17 decider at Celtic Park and Saints supporters have already purchased more than 13,000 tickets much to Wright's happiness.

"They are flying - we are well over 13,000 and still going strong. I think that's great for the club," said Wright.

"We encouraged the supporters to reach 15,000 and I imagine we will surpass that total. That will be a tremendous achievement.

"We have seen that support already in European games - over 8,000 for each.

"I know the club will be working hard once the cup final is out the way to contact people who bought tickets and try to encourage them to come back on a more regular basis."
