Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek says Andy Cole should be regarded as a Toon great.
Cole was a great success for Newcastle before his shock sale to Manchester United.
He wrote in the Evening Chronicle: "He had to be one of the best strikers I ever had the fortune to play against but he was not flash or big time like some people who were a big success. In fact, at the time I remember we all used to laugh because when he first moved up Andy had got himself a flat in one of the worst areas of Newcastle. I think he must have taken some bad advice!
"But Andy was a phenomenal striker and was a massive part of our success in those first years under Kevin Keegan. You knew that if the ball dropped to him in the penalty area, you would not have to worry one bit about him taking the chance."
