Tottenham winger Andros Townsend hopes to start for England against Lithuania.

Townsend is likely to be recalled by Roy Hodgson for Monday's final qualifier in Lithuania, with England hoping to finish with a 100 per cent qualifying record.

"After the World Cup we got a lot of criticism but we've bounced back in the best way, winning nine out of nine in the group," said Townsend.

"When you win matches it breeds confidence and that is what we've done, and now we want to finish the job on Monday."
