Tottenham are ready to play a game of brinkmanship with West Brom over a fee for defender Curtis Davies.

The Daily Mail says West Brom want £12m for Davies, who Tottenham are reported to value at £8m.

The Baggies' valuation, Spurs expect, will tumble the nearer Friday's transfer deadline looms if they really want to part with Davies to recoup cash to spend elsewhere.
