Tottenham are refusing to meet Toby Alderweireld's pay demands.
The London Evening Standard says Alderweireld wants at least pay parity with top earners Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane, both of whom collect more than £100,000 per week, compared with Alderweireld's weekly £50,000.
The 28-year-old's contract runs for another 18 months and although Spurs have the option to extend it until 2020, doing so would enable Alderweireld to leave for £25.4million in the summer 2019 transfer window.
The Belgium international's situation is being monitored by Europe's biggest clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
