Spurs wait as Jordan quits Portsmouth

Joe Jordan has quit Portsmouth and is expected to join Harry Redknapp at Tottenham.

The Sun says Jordan, 56, had been at Portsmouth for four years, which included spells as caretaker manager, and had apparently agreed on Wednesday to stay on to work under Tony Adams, Redknapp's successor, but underwent a change of heart yesterday.

With Ian Broomfield, the head of scouting, also departing by mutual consent, Adams is left with a skeleton staff of Paul Groves, the reserve-team manager, and David Coles, the influential goalkeeping coach. Redknapp was said to want to hire Coles to work with Heurelho Gomes, the goalkeeper, but Coles has declared that he is staying.
