Tottenham are on the verge of landing Barcelona superkid Giovani dos Santos in a £12.5million deal.

The Mirror says the capture of Dos Santos is a sensational coup for Spurs boss Juande Ramos as the 19-year-old is one of football's most coveted young stars.

Dos Santos, who was born in Mexico and has a Mexican mother, chose to play for them ahead of Brazil. His father is former Brazilian international Zizinho.

The player has drawn comparisons with Ronaldinho because of his flashy skills.
