Fabio Capello was spotted in Heathrow yesterday, sparking speculation linking him with crisis club Tottenham.
The Daily Mail says Spurs were at pains to deny any involvement as former Real Madrid boss Capello flew into Heathrow last night.
It is possible that the Italian, who has been linked with a move to an MLS club, had been meeting officials during the USA's 1-0 defeat in Sweden on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Spurs said: "The club has been approached by agents of various top coaches.
"I can confirm we were approached by someone claiming to represent Fabio Capello. They were told politely but in no uncertain terms that we did not wish to meet him and that we are not about to change the manager.
"He should be under no illusions about that and we have no idea why he was in London."
