Wilson Palacios could still remain a Wigan Athletic player, it has been revealed.
The Daily Mail says Latics' boss Steve Bruce suggested after Wigan's 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Saturday that a £14m deal had been agreed with Spurs, but the Honduran midfielder now looks set to stay at the JJB Stadium.
Wigan are reluctant to do business with Tottenham as they, like Sunderland, West Ham, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, have become aggrieved at the way Spurs have gone about their business in the January transfer window.
Palacios was also anxious to stay in the north-west, making a move to Manchester City more likely than a transfer to north London.
The midfielder has settled in the area following his £1m move from Deportivo Olimpio last January and was reluctant to uproot his family to the capital.
