Spurs striker Pavlyuchenko: Premiership pace left me feeling lost

Roman Pavlyuchenko admits he's struggled to adapt to life at Tottenham.

The Russia striker told Spurs' official magazine: "Any player coming to the Premier League has watched hours of football on the television, but until you are out there on the pitch you cannot really imagine what it is like.

"The speed and power of the English game can be very difficult to get used to, even having come from playing in what was quite a physical league.

"It took me a while to adapt my game from the Russian style; I could feel myself getting lost because everyone was moving fast. It was and still is impossible to relax for a second - you have to invest 100 per cent concentration all of the time.

"But I am glad the Tottenham supporters have shown patience, because I think I have shown what I am capable of since."
