Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente admits he was ready to join Chelsea in August.

It's emerged Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was left furious with management over their failure to sign Llorente after learning they offered a knockdown £5m to Swansea City.

And Llorente has as much confirmed the low ball offer on Cadena Ser yesterday: "It's true, I talked with Conte, but Chelsea could not find an agreement with Swansea.

"These are things that happen in football. This is where (Mauricio) Pochettino called me and the project he presented me really attracted me."
