Tottenham striker Harry Kane says he won't take his England call-up for granted.
Kane is determined to make the most of the opportunity
"I'm taking nothing for granted. My attitude now will be the same as it has been at every level when I've played for England: work hard, train hard and try to impress the manager. I'm going there with the aim of working my way into the team. I don't expect to turn up and play because I've scored a few goals this season," Kane told the Daily Mail.
"We've got some great players, up front especially, but I'm ready to fight for my place. I don't want to just be a squad man. When I met Roy Hodgson the last time with the Under 21s, I had scored against Aston Villa, which was when it all started happening really.
"He said I was doing well in the Europa League and told me to keep working at getting a place in the Tottenham team. I got my nose in, scored some goals, and now I'm here. Things happen so quickly in football, I saw that with Andros Townsend. So, it's a nice surprise but in another way I always thought there was a possibility I could play for England, if I got a chance at my club."
