Tottenham ace Jermaine Defoe says Ian Wright's late career move to West Ham United was a catalyst for his own success.
Since their days together at Upton Park, Defoe and Wright have remained close.
Defoe told TalkSport: "Even before I went to West Ham I had 'Wrighty's' posters all over my wall and I still watch his goals now.
"At the time I went to West Ham I was only 17 and Wrighty was there and we used to speak after training and do finishing and he used to hold and tell me and tussle and tell the right time to run and things like that and I'll never forget that because he has definitely helped me."
