Tottenham have slapped a £7.5 million price-tag on Egyptian striker Mido.
The People says Mido has sorted out personal terms and had a medical yesterday, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is trying to get every last penny for him by setting Boro boss Gareth Southgate against Roy Keane's Sunderland.
Southgate is confident that Mido wants to move to The Riverside, where he would take over from unsettled Everton target Yakubu. But Boro were rocked to find the valuation had gone up.
Boro were prepared to pay £6m, only to be told Sunderland had offered £7.5m in instalments.
