Giovani dos Santos has revealed he turned down offers from Chelsea and Manchester United to sign with Tottenham.

The Mexico international said: "I decided to move so to grow as a player. I wanted to play more and Tottenham gave me this opportunity.

"I also had good offers from Chelsea, Manchester United and Ajax, but I really wanted to sign for Juande (Ramos). I am joining with the intent of doing great things for Spurs."

Giovani added: "I decided it was time to leave in December. I told my agent, Pini Zahavi, who also spoke with the club.

"Maybe some day I will return to Barca. I love the club, but it will always be in different circumstances."
