Spurs sell out Wembley season ticket allocation as fans back title tilt

Tottenham management are delighted with the take up of season tickets for the new campaign at Wembley stadium.

Spurs have sold out all 40,000 tickets for Wembley Stadium as they prepare for a year away from White Hart Lane.

The London giants will play their home games for the 2017-18 season at Wembley as their new 60,000-capacity stadium on the site of their former home is completed. Spurs expect to return ready for the following year.

After falling just short in the race for the Premier League title over the last two years, Spurs fans are clearly buoyed by their new season chances. Indeed, many experts believe with just a few tweaks Tottenham could be regarded as among the favourites for the title this campaign.

Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood believes it will be crucial for manager Mauricio Pochettino to keep his squad together.

Discussing Harry Kane, Sherwood recently told talkSPORT: "I'd love him to stay at Spurs. The only threat is that team across the water also in white.

“He finished top scorer in the Premier League last season even though he was injured for 11 games, which is phenomenal. Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino will not want to lose Harry Kane, the only danger is if Real Madrid come and go for him as they did with [Luka] Modric and [Gareth] Bale.

"Then it'll be a real test for the resolve of Tottenham and whether they want to keep him or not."
