Tottenham Hotspur have gone on to categorically deny claims that defender Toby Alderweireld has a £25.4million release clause in his contract.

Controversial whistleblowers Football Leaks have been making headlines in recent times and the website recently claimed that Spurs centre-half Alderweireld currently possesses a 30m euro release on his contract at White Hart Lane.

Such a revelation could prompt the interest from a host of clubs in Alderweireld but Tottenham have moved quickly to rubbish such claims by insisting that none of their players have "an active release clause in their current contract."
