Tottenham are joining the race for Manchester United defender Wes Brown.

The Sunday Mirror says the England star has refused to sign a new contract at Old Trafford and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

It means that United may consider selling him in January for as little as £1million.

Sunderland, Birmingham and Newcastle are also keen on Brown, but Ramos hopes the prospect of UEFA Cup football will help lure him to White Hart Lane.
