Tottenham have joined the race for Heerenveen striker Afonso Alves.
The Brazil international is a target for Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson, with Dutch sources claiming a fee has already been agreed for the prolific marksman.
The Guardian says Spurs scouts were dispatched to watch Alves last Sunday.
