Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is planning a £1.5 million bid for Leicester City fullback Joe Mattock.

The Sunday Mirror says Mattock, 17, was the subject of a failed £1m bid from West Ham in January and is also wanted by Rangers, Spurs and Wigan. But O'Neill is determined to build a squad for the future and likes Mattock's versatility as he can play on the left side of defence and midfield.
