Tottenham are ready to put Jermain Defoe up for sale.

The Mirror says Spurs are willing to trade one England hitman for another should they agree terms with Charlton for Darren Bent.

There are no shortage of takers for Defoe, however, with Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Everton and his old club West Ham interested.

The player, though, is determined to stay and fight for his place under Martin Jol.
