Tottenham are not going to make it easy for Manchester United to sign Toby Alderweireld.

It appears that Alderweireld is on his way out at the North London club, after failing to agree terms on a new contract.

But The Sun is reporting that Spurs will play hardball with United over the transfer. In fact, they will ask for Anthony Martial in a part-exchange deal.

Alderweireld wants a bigger contract at Spurs, at around £150,000 per week. But Spurs are not prepared to go that high. Such an amount would be easy for United to manage, given the wages they play their top players.

But it is unclear if United would be willing to sell the talented and young attacker Martial to a Premier League rival. He is a huge fan favourite and many at the club see him as a potential superstar.
