Tottenham are planning a £6 million bid for Reading left-back Nicky Shorey.
The People says Shorey has told friends that if he doesn't move to White Hart Lane in January he will stay at Reading only until the summer.
West Ham have already failed with a £5m bid for Shorey, 26, who has one senior England cap. Newcastle are keen.
