Tottenham No2 Gus Poyet has welcomed the capture of Dinamo Zagreb star Luka Modric.

"That's good news," he said. "It's exciting.

"He's going to be amazing to have around next year and so I look forward to working with him.

"He's an all-round player," Poyet added on Sky Sports. "I think the 80,000 or 90,000 that were at Wembley [against England] and probably the millions that were watching that famous game know the player was outstanding that day and will hope that he brings that here."
