Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson is ready to reclaim his England place.
Robinson was axed by Steve McClaren for the crunch Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia after a nightmare year.
Robbo said: "I had a dip in confidence.
"Of course it hurt at the time being left out by England but sometimes you look at the game and become a better player when you're not playing.
"When you get criticised, it is not nice but I feel in the last few weeks I've been getting back to my best. I'm feeling confident now.
"With the new England manager everyone starts with a clean slate but there are only a couple of friendly games during the rest of this season so I'm really looking to maintain my form for Tottenham."
