Tottenham are moving to trump Arsenal for QPR striker Loic Remy.

Remy is currently on loan at Newcastle United, where he has banged in 14 goals this season.

The Daily Star says Spurs are now looking to Remy to help avoid the goal shortage that has contributed to derailing their current campaign.

It would mean going head-to-head with their north London rivals Arsenal, who have been linked with a £12m bid for the striker in recent weeks.

And new reports in France today claim Tottenham are now in negotiations with QPR over signing Remy, who is said to be keen on joining the Tim Sherwood-led club.
