Livermore's long-term future remains shrouded in uncertainty but he admits he will always be in the Tigers' debt.
"I came to this club to get some games under my belt and this is a massive bonus," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"It never came into my head about being in a final, but after being at the club for a few weeks I knew the club had something and the gaffer had us playing a certain way which could take us forward.
"It is a fresh start for me and it is a breath of fresh air for someone to have a bit of faith in me and to say just go out and play every week.
"It's great for everyone. The fans have been great all season at home and the travelling ones away too. It was fantastic to give them a day like today and another in a few weeks time."
