Tottenham and England legend Chris Waddle is keen to see Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran get his chance in the upcoming international friendlies.

Waddle believes McEachran is different to the senior midfielders available to England coach Fabio Capello.

He told the People: "I would also like to see Josh McEachran at Chelsea get a run, as he is another­ player who has close control­ and gets forward­ with the ball under control.­ That's the type we need.

"It's all very well having pace and aggression - as the best England teams have had in the past.

"But now it is about keeping­ the ball and being able to cope when the pressure­ comes on."
