Gary Lineker has empathized with Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado following his horror show on Thursday night.
The Spaniard again misfired as Spurs were beaten 2-0 by Fiorentina in the Europa League Round of 32 second leg at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Early in the contest, Soldado could have fired the north Londoners into the overall lead following last week's 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane but opted to square the ball to Nacer Chadli instead.
His decision not to shoot when in a one-on-one with Fiorentina keeper Neto drew plenty of criticism on social media but ex-Spurs ace Lineker felt the need to show some sympathy.
Not sure I've ever seen a player as bereft of confidence as Soldado. Poor bugger!

Soldado has not delivered for Tottenham having scored just 16 goals since joining from Valencia for £26million in the summer of 2013.
