Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle has questioned Manchester United's title credentials with the David de Gea saga dragging on.
De Gea was dropped for victory over Tottenham yesterday with his move to Real Madrid still a prospect.
Hoddle told the Mail on Sunday: "Louis van Gaal faces a nightmare situation with David de Gea.
"You can't see United challenging for the title without a settled keeper and at the start of the season he doesn't know who his No 1 will be.
"United do hold the cards in that they don't have to sell him. If he is still there when the window closes, he will knuckle down and play like a pro. Otherwise, he won't get games."
