Former Tottenham striker Jimmy Greaves hopes Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney can soon break his England scoring record.
Greaves wrote in the Sunday Mirror: "The sooner Wayne Rooney passes my record of 44 goals for England the better for me.
"In fact, if he doesn't bloody well hurry up and do it, and then go on to pass Gary Lineker on 48 and Bobby Charlton on 49 as well, I'm going to come out of retirement, score a few more and make sure the record is out of his reach for good.
"I must be honest, I'm getting pretty cheesed off that I keep hearing about him edging closer to me and I was hoping he'd hit double figures against San Marino on Thursday so we could talk about it today and just move on."
