Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles believes Valencia striker Roberto Soldado can turn the club into title contenders.

The Argentine, 60, believes that the frontman is a snip - even at £26m.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "Everyone knows we need a centre-forward. That is why we lost fourth spot last season.

"Soldado can do the job. I have seen him quite a lot and he is very, very similar to Luis Suarez.

"He is very tricky, very intelligent. He will be great for us."
