Spurs kids inspired by Pochettino commitment to youth

Tottenham's youngsters have been inspired by manager Mauricio Pochettino's commitment to youth.

Pochettino was in the stands on Thursday for Spurs' FA Youth Cup win over Chelsea.

Asked after the win whether players such as Kane, Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason, who have made the transition from academy level to the first team, were an inspiration to the current crop of youngsters, under-18s coach Kieran McKenna said: "Massively, yes."

"To have five first team players start in the cup final on Sunday who have come through the academy can only inspire these boys," he told the London Evening Standard.

He added: "Obviously we've got a first team manager at the moment who is brave enough to play youth whenever he thinks they're ready and I think one of the most important things for young players is for them to see that they have a pathway and for these boys at the moment they can certainly see that if they do well enough that there's a pathway through to the first team."
