Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel rates Jermain Defoe's finishing in the class of Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.
Defoe was not a consistent starter last year but has scored 15 goals in 26 games for club and country this season and the American thinks his talents deserve recognition.
"He reminds me a lot of Robbie Fowler in his finishing," said Friedel. "He has a really short back lift. When you have that sometimes keepers can't get their feet set. On top of that he's got some power behind his shot.
"But then he can also disguise it and do what he did against Panathinaikos and dink it over the keeper. He's an exceptional finisher and he really comes on fire when he gets in the box."
