Tottenham are in talks to release Emmanuel Adebayor from his contract.

The Daily Mail says the 31-year-old has been a target for West Ham but by becoming a free agent would not have to sign for a new club by 6pm.

West Ham had been keen on a loan but have taken up their permitted domestic loans with Victor Moses and Carl Jenkinson.

With time running out for the club to secure Adebayor a move before the window closes, Tottenham are exploring the possibility of cancelling the final year of his deal.

The club are also hopeful of shifting misfit Aaron Lennon with Everton the most likely destination.
