Zenit St Petersburg's bid for Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko could flush out other suitors.
Zenit are prepared to pay £10million plus add-ons for the Russia international.
And the Daily Mail says Turkish side Besiktas could emerge as rival bidders, while Birmingham City, Fulham and West Ham United have also been linked with a move.
Pavlyuchenko is in Moscow ahead of Russia's two-leg World Cup qualification play-off against Slovenia and seems happy to be home.
"What's my mood? Good," he said. "Everyone comes to the team trying to forget their problems, including me.
"We are all awarded that the next two matches determine Russia's fate for next year. I'm ready for a fight."
