Former Tottenham and England midfielder Jamie Redknapp says Fabio Capello paid for selecting players not fully fit for the World Cup.
In his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp said: "Fabio Capello has had a World Cup to forget. For a start, he said he would only pick players who are fit but then went back on that.
"His decisions backfired, such as Gareth Barry playing when he was so obviously lacking in match fitness.
"You can't carry players at this level, you get found out. And that was exposed yesterday when Germany got in and around him."
